FOR CLUBS, SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITY GROUPS

Your members go shopping.
Your group gets paid.

Every pack sold pays your group. Your members buy a pack of vouchers for five local shops — money they would spend anyway — and a bingo card with a cash grand prize comes free with it. You find five shops and share a link. That is the whole job.

A real Local Business Bingo card — local shops in the squares, numbers drawn nightly
A REAL CARD, LIVE

How a round runs.

About six weeks is the usual length. Once you have said go, everything below happens on its own.

01 / YOU

Tell us about your group

Name, town, what you are raising money for. Five questions. Your round exists the moment you press the button, and your links are on the screen.

02 / THE SHOPS

Five local shops join in

You send them a link — the café, the bakery, the shops your families already use. The link tells them what they give and what they get. It costs them nothing.

03 / YOUR MEMBERS

They buy the pack

One link on your newsletter, poster or Facebook page. Say $25 for five $5 vouchers, one per shop, straight into Apple Wallet or Google Wallet — and the bingo card comes with them. Nothing to install.

04 / THE GAME

The card fills up

A number is drawn every night and crosses itself off. Shop squares clear when a member walks in and gets their card scanned, and every visit scratches a bonus voucher. First full card wins the grand prize.

Where the money goes.

Every pack is split the same way. These are the numbers your round starts with.

A pack, $25

What a member gets

Five $5 vouchers, one at each shop on the card, good for anything in store and valid for three years. Plus the bingo card, free, with a cash grand prize that grows with every pack sold.

Your share

What your group gets

$15 of every pack, paid to your bank account at the end of the round. Sell 200 packs and that is $3,000. Sell 500 and it is $7,500. The prizes and our fee come out of the rest, never out of your share.

The shops fund the vouchers in goods, so the vouchers are real. A $5 voucher costs a café about $1.50 and brings a family through the door. That is why they say yes.

Who does what.

You

Find five shops, tell your members it is on. Give us a bank account for your share.

Your local shops

Honour their voucher at the counter and scan members' cards with their own phone. Nothing to install, nothing to pay.

Open Locally

Builds the round, sells the packs, puts the vouchers and the card in the wallet, draws the number every night, pays the prizes, and pays your share.

Hi — There is a fundraiser I think would suit us. It is called Local Business Bingo and it runs on people's phones. Members buy a pack of vouchers for five local shops — $25 for five $5 vouchers — and a bingo card comes free with it. A set share of every pack goes to us. The vouchers go in their phone wallet and they spend them at the shops. A number is drawn every night, they clear the shop squares by popping in and getting their card scanned, and the first full card wins the grand prize. The shops pay nothing, we pay nothing, and nobody pays to play. It runs for about six weeks. We find five shops and share a link, and that is all we do. Have a look: openlocally.com/fundraising
